UVC Lighting is a disinfection method that uses short-wavelength ultraviolet light to kill or inactivate microorganisms. Light in the UVC wavelength can be used for disinfecting duct work, and for the sterilization of surfaces.
UVC technology can be used to sterilize air and surfaces in healthcare facilities, laboratories, schools, universities, and food preparation / processing plants among some applications.
UVC lighting attacks pathogens, such as bacteria, viruses, and mold, on surfaces and in the air.
UVC lighting kills airborne pathogens in the room where they are released – thus cleaning and sterilizing the space. Fixture timers and other safeguards are used to prevent direct UV exposures to people in the room.
UVC Light can be used for disinfection of the HVAC system and duct work – thus sterilizing air that is blown out of the system. These systems can be very effective for air disinfection.
